Before you ask
What does a brand film cost in London?+
Brand films start at £6,500 and are quoted as a project rather than by the day, because treatment, kit, post and grade are most of the work and a day rate hides them. A single-location film with a hero cut and three social versions typically sits near the floor. You get the fixed figure at treatment stage.
Do you write the concept or do we bring one?+
Either. If you have a brief I'll treat against it. If you have a problem and no brief, that's the more interesting version of the job and I'll come back with a direction before we talk about days.
Why hire an individual rather than a production company?+
You're paying for fewer people between the idea and the frame. For films under roughly two shoot days that's a straight saving and a faster process. Past that, a production company's producer earns their fee and I'll say so.
Do you handle casting, location and permits?+
I coordinate all three and bring in a producer when the job warrants one. Permits in London are a lead-time issue more than a cost one, so it's the first thing we lock.
